Exit 24 in Albany. Follow 87 North to Exit 30. Take a left off of the off-ramp onto Rt. 9 North and follow it for two miles to Rt. 73. Continue on 73 for 26 miles to Lake Placid area. Turn left at the traffic light onto Main Street which is also Rt. 86. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/2 a mile up the road on the right just past the Olympic Arena. Drive Time- From NYC- 5 hrs From Albany- 2 1/2 hrs. From Montreal Take Route 15 South to the Champlain Crossing, connect with I-87 South at the boarder. Take Exit 34 West, following Route 9N. Then follow Route 86 to the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. Continue straight through the traffic light. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/2 a mile up the road on the right just past the Olympic Arena. Drive time- 2 hours. From Ottawa Head South to the Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 East to Malone. Follow Route 30 South to Paul Smiths College. Follow Route 86 to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Rt. 86 becomes Main Street in Lake Placid. Bear right at the bottom of the hill. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/4 mile ahead on the left opposite parking for Olympic Arena. Drive time- 3 hours. From Toronto Take 401 East to the Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 East to Malone. Follow Route 30 South to Paul Smiths College. Follow Route 86 to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Rt. 86 becomes Main Street in Lake Placid. Bear right at the bottom of the hill. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/4 mile ahead on the left opposite parking for Olympic Arena. Drive time- 5 1/2 hours. From Boston, Springfield and Hartford Take the Massachusetts Turnpike I-90 to Albany, NY. Pick up I-787 North to Cohoes. Connect with Route 7 West. Then get on I-87 North. Follow I-87 the Northway to Exit 30. Follow final directions above- From New York City... Drive time- Boston- 5 hours. From Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse Take I-90 NY State Thruway East to Exit 36 Syracuse. Pick up I-81 North and follow it to Watertown. Follow Route 3 East to Saranac Lake. Then get on Route 86 East to Lake Placid. Rt. 86 becomes Main Street in Lake Placid. Bear right at the bottom of the hill. The Golden Arrow is located in the center of the Village of Lake Placid offering you innumerable choices for dining all within a short walk. However, we are also proud to offer excellent restaurants as well as a few coffee shops & delis right on the grounds of the hotel. Charlie's is a trendy new fine dining restaurant. The service is unparalleled and the menu will make your mouth water. It will be hard to do, but try to save room for dessert. Charlie's Fried Blackberry Pie is amazing! The Coff-E-Bean Internet Cafe and Coffee Bar is a trendy little nook in the Alpine Mall. Sampling gourmet coffee drinks, delectable desserts, and their specialty Hot Caramels and White Hot Chocolates might take your attention off of the Internet Access, Fax, Copy, Scanning, and Picture Printing services they offer, but there is no way you can miss the breathtaking view from the balcony. Adirondack weather can be unpredictable sometimes. However, bad weather should not stop you from having an amazing vacation. At the Golden Arrow there are a myriad of activities our guests can partake in without even having to go outside. For fitness buffs, the Resort has a complimentary full-service Health Club with aerobic and weight equipment, and the only racquetball court in town. Rackets can be rented at the Front Desk for a fee. Don't forget about our heated indoor pool with sauna, steam bath, and two whirlpool tubs. A favorite among kids and grown ups alike, the pool is a great place to play. So, if keeping fit is part of your daily routine, you can keep it up here at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Our location directly on Main Street puts all of Lake Placid's quaint boutiques, specialty stores, and shops right outside our door, just steps away. The Alpine Mall connected directly to the Hotel acts as a gateway for our guests to downtown. A myriad of boutiques, clothing and antique stores, snack and specialty shops grace the halls of this adorable mall. Come try a wine tasting at GooseWatch Winery or see glass blowing demonstrations at the Glass Blowing Shop. There is so much to see, and you don't even have to go outside.
